About us

Who we are

The Odua Descendants in the Netherlands is the premier cultural hub for the Yoruba diaspora in the Netherlands.

The Odua Descendants Association is a cultural and socio-developmental organization established to promote unity, heritage, and progress among the descendants of Oduduwa — the progenitor of the Yoruba people. The Association serves as a platform for Yoruba sons and daughters, both at home and in the diaspora, to reconnect with their roots, preserve their rich traditions, and contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities.

Rooted in the values of togetherness, integrity, and progress, the Odua Descendants Association seeks to uphold the dignity and cultural pride of the Yoruba race through educational, cultural, and economic empowerment initiatives. Members share a common vision of strengthening bonds among Yoruba descendants while promoting peace, cooperation, and mutual respect among all ethnic groups.

Our approach

Our Mission
To preserve and promote the Yoruba heritage while empowering members through education, culture, and collective action for the advancement of society.

Whether it is a reassuring conversation, financial help, education, professional training, or simply the assurance that they are not alone, we will make sure that everyone gets support that meets them where they’re at as quickly as possible.

Our Vision
To be a unifying global platform for all descendants of Oduduwa, promoting Yoruba excellence, culture, and community development.
Our entire team wants to see a world where every youngster struggling in any way feels able to reach out and has people who’ll help them with education, jobs, and more. We want to spread out in every region so we’ll be reachable to all.
